"We will be meeting on Wednesday, April 29th from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Conference Centre at College Plaza (2nd floor), 8215 112 Street NW, Edmonton. A number of mental health providers will speak about their own experiences with Practice Note 7. We will follow this by lively table discussions to consider: How to improve outcomes for families who have been ordered or have voluntarily undergone a PN7 process and report.

If you are not familiar with Practice Note 7, and want to read more, please follow this link to the Family Practice Notes of the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta: https://albertacourts.ca/kb/areas-of-law/family/family-practice-notes .
Please plan to arrive on time. Our evening will be structured differently than in the past, as we will aim to hear first from our speakers (at 6:15 pm) and then we will enjoy food and discussion together.

As we will be providing the food, please be prepared to pay a non-refundable amount of $25.00 when you sign up. This will cover the costs for the venue, the food, and the beverages. We want to have enough food to feed everyone, so your early registration will assist in our planning. If you have dietary restrictions, you can let us know when you register through Calendly.

The AFCC is an organization of multi-disciplinary professionals who assist families in conflict after relationship breakdown. The AFCC Supper Club of Edmonton is an opportunity to interact with local professionals and to hear from speakers involved with families in conflict. We hope to encourage and assist professionals to promote well-being and healthy transitions as parents and children experience separation and divorce. The AFCC Supper Club is a monthly get-together, and we anticipate meeting on a weekday during the last week of the following months: September to November, and January to June, with some exceptions.

We invite the participation of judges, lawyers, mediators, psychologists, researches, academics, counselors, court commissioners, custody evaluators, psychiatrists, parenting coordinators, court administrators, social workers, parent educators, financial professionals who are involved with families in transition after separation. The professional can work within the court system or outside of it.

If you are not a member of AFCC, but are interested in joining, please visit the Alberta Chapter at https://www.afccalberta.org/ "
